Below are sample categories and estimated amounts for the annual expenses incurred by the Veteran Council of Chatham County. These expenses help us as an organization to assist all veterans in our community.

• Community Outreach Events: $30,000
Supports the organization of Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies, parades, Veterans appreciation gala, Flag display maintenance, and educational workshops.

• Veteran Assistance Programs: $15,000
Provides emergency financial support, housing assistance, and transportation for local veterans in need.

• Administrative Costs: $4,500
Covers office supplies, printing, postage, and technology services required for daily operations.

• Scholarship Funds: $10,000
Awards scholarships to veterans and their family members for educational advancement. (This is a new initiative for the council to begin doing)

• Volunteer Training & Recognition: $2,500
Trains volunteers and recognizes their dedicated service through events or awards.

• Facility support: $3,000
Ensures monies are available to support the council’s office and meeting spaces that are loaned to us for use by American Legion Posts and other organizations within the council.
